An Important Notice Regarding Your
Property Assessment from MPAC
All residential property owners in Whitchurch-Stouffville will have recently received a Property Assessment Notice from MPAC. This is a very important document as it will form the basis upon which the town will assess your property taxes for the next four years. (2016 – 2020)
MPAC previously completed their property assessment effective January1, 2012. The current assessed value is effective January 1, 2016. The statistics upon which the current valuations are based indicate the average single residential valuation has increased 45.9% in York Region during that time period.
The year-over-year change, January 1, 2017 over January 1, 2016 is anticipated to be 12.2%.
Please review your notice carefully as it contains a summary of the data MPAC have for your property and upon which they base their calculation. It also indicates the school system you support.
If you have any questions you can go to the MPAC website, or you can call their office at 1-866-296-6722. If you deem it necessary you will have 120 days in which to file a “Request for Reconsideration” notice. (Until October 11, 2016).
An additional source of much information on market trends etc is available on the website titled
