Notice of Detour – Lakeshore Road – Mon-Fri, 28 July – 7 September

Lakeshore Road (Musselman’s Lake) will undergo emergency road reconstruction from approximately 28 July – 7 September, 2020, at the south end of Musselman’s Lake proper. Please see a simplified diagram below.

Due to a narrow working area, a detour will be established from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am – 4pm. Only local traffic will be permitted. The detour will be signed via Aurora Road (Bloomington Road is also an option).

Outside of the 9am – 4pm window, only one lane will be available through the construction zone

Lakeshore Road Rehabilitation and Stabilization Project.

The Lakeshore Road rehabilitation and stabilization project will take place between 5801 and approximately 5831 Lakeshore Road, Musselman’s Lake. 

The Lakeshore Road Emergency Road Reconstruction and Shoreline Stabilization Project will see the repair and improvement of a degraded 120m section of Lakeshore Road at Musselman’s Lake. The realigned section of Lakeshore Road will facilitate theinstallation of a retaining wall and guiderail system, in the vicinity of the degraded section of roadway. The reconstructed road segment will include improvements to underground infrastructure and will establish a 6.0m paved width, bounded by a new 0.5m shoulder along the south edge and a new curb and gutter along the north edge.

Scope of Work

  • Hydro pole relocation
  • Realignment and reconstruction of approximately 120m of Lakeshore Road
  • Storm sewer upgrades; replacement of underground pipe and catchbasins
  • Fire hydrant upgrades
  • Installation of new guiderail system
  • Installation of armour stone retaining wall

Please note that the Office of the Premier of Ontario lists construction for the maintenance of municipal infrastructure as an “Essential Service,” during the COVID-19 State of Emergency.
