Investigation Proves Algae Harmless

On May 5th Brian Ginn, Liminologist, with The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority asked Rick Wigmore, President of the MLRA, to arrange Lake access  for the LSRCA. The LSRCA were planning to take some “spring overturn” water samples to build on the testing performed for the Water Quality & Management Of Musselman’s Lake Report.

While speaking with Brian, Rick asked him to look into our spring algae problem that some residents were enquiring about. On May 6th the LSRCA launched their boat. They took water samples and investigated the visible algae to see if we had any reason for concern.

We are grateful that Mr. Ginn took the time to investigate and here is his response to Mr. Wigmore.LSRCA letter regarding Algae 0507141 (1)
