MLRA Earth Day Community Clean Event Was A Great Success

Photo10

Earthday_inheritWe would like to extend a our sincere thanks to all of our sponsors and everyone from our community who came out to help support our annual Musselman’s Lake Earth Day Community Clean-up.

Saturday April 25th was a great day here at the Lake and through your efforts and generosity we all made a positive, noticeable difference to our community and the environment.

Thank you all for your contributions and for dedicating your time and hard work to help make our Community Clean-up a success and a day to remember.  We couldn’t have done it without you!

This event was made possible with the help of:Photo6

Tiny Seedlings for providing the fantastic catered meal that we all enjoyed.

United Soils for providing the garbage bins and garbage bags and staff to help clean up.  United soils also graciously donated their Photo3sweeper to remove as much sand and debris left over from winter and keep it from washing into our precious lake.

George at the Coolest Little Ice Cream shop for all of his help.

Mike and Most Excellent Productions for doing all of the sound and keeping us entertained.

Cedar Beach Resort for providing a great location to host our event and all of the equipment and staff.

We would also like to thank Ravenshoe group for all of their online support and their help in keeping our community up to date and informed!Photo2

This year we collected a staggering amount of garbage out of the lake by our water teams and off the roads and ditches that surround our community.  In total we removed 2 full bins totalling over 40 yards of garbage!

We also collected 10 great bikes that were donated that same day to Africycle and will be on their way to Africa making a huge difference to the children those bikes reach.

We collected 47lbs of used batteries that were taken to a recycling center and that we kept out of our landfill.  The sweeper made great progress and removed tons, literally tons of material from our roads that will never wash into our lake.

Well done everyone! We have a lot to be proud of.  Without the great support of all of you this event never would have happened, pat yourselves on the back!

Stay tuned to the website for important updates as we keep you informed on what is happening in our community.

LAKE GARAGE SALE: SUNDAY SEPT 7th

Having Fun at Musselman's Lake Community Garage Sale

CLICK ON IMAGE TO VIEW MORE PHOTOS

Although we got rained out on Saturday, the Musselman’s Lake Community Sale went ahead with great success on Sunday.  We lucked out with beautiful weather and LOTS of shoppers!  About 15 people/families brought their stuff to sell.  We had fun with a surprise appearance from Dora the Explorer!  She posed for pictures and entertained the children while their parents shopped.  Everyone enjoyed a day visiting with our friends and neighbours from the Lake and picking up a few garage sale bargains along the way!  The sale was behind George and Irene’s Coolest Little Ice Cream Shop, Cedar Beach Variety, at 9th Line/Cedarvale.  We hope to make this an annual event, please email me if you’d like to be notified of next years date: c.brusso@rogers.com.

Thanks to everyone for selling, buying, or both at this awesome Community Garage Sale – You all are what made this event a success!!!
